What is APT
Aptos (APT) is a Layer-1 blockchain built by former Meta engineers who worked on the discontinued Diem (formerly Libra) project. The network uses the Move smart-contract language, designed for safety, and Block-STM parallel execution for high throughput. Mainnet launched in October 2022. APT secures the network via staking and pays for transaction fees.
